Italian market up in 2019

Imports see double-digits growth, export stable

According to the last Unacea survey on the Italian market, in 2019, 16,927 construction equipment has been sold on the Italian market, up 16% compared to 2018. In more detail, figures consist of 16,311 earth-moving machines (+15%), and 616 road equipment (+23%).

Looking at the foreign trade, Italian export of construction equipment between January and October 2019 reached €2.5 billion, stable compared to last year (+1%). According to the last Samoter Outlook carried by Prometeia, it grew the export of concrete equipment (+13.8) and of crushing and screening machines (+7.8%). Stable the trend of export for drilling equipment (&2B1.1%) and earth-movinng machines (-0.7%). Drop in the export of tower cranes (-10%) and road machines (-15%) while imports saw a double-digit growth (+13%), reaching €0.92 billion. Trade balance surplus amount to €1,5 billion, even if loss 4.9% compared to 2018..
